Participated actively in the protests of January 8-9, helping wounded protesters near Vakilabad and Haftir police station in Mashhad; his motorcycle plate was reported to Haftir police station. On March 1, a staged car accident was arranged for him near Namayeshgah 15. He was transported by ambulance which took an unusually long route (54 km instead of 5 km, taking one hour) to reach Farabi hospital; family was misinformed he was taken to Velayat hospital. By the time he was located, he had died. Time of death was not recorded in hospital documents. Autopsy in the morgue revealed multiple blows from a hard object to his head and abdomen. His body was initially withheld from viewing; he had no IV catheter and his clothes showed no signs of an accident, yet he was quickly moved to the morgue in the same clothes.
