Every public name is tied to at least one of these lists or reports. Being listed here means an organisation recorded some of the names — not that it confirmed every detail of every record.

AI-compiled lists and community burial lists are used as leads. Names that rest on them alone are shown as D, marked as leads, and are never counted.
Why the numbers differ
None of the existing lists is complete. The blackout, pressure on families, hurried or secret burials, and different definitions of “killed in the protests” produce different figures. This archive does not add those figures together or average them. A number published by a source stays with that organisation’s name and date, separate from the count of names on this site.
Execution cases
A death sentence is a status, not a permanent attribute. Every case has a check date and a source. The previous status is kept.
